Blurt posts can use Markdown and some frontends offer visual editors. The central rule is that each image needs a working publicly accessible URL.
How do I insert a photo?
- Upload the image through a trusted frontend or supported image host.
- Copy the complete HTTPS URL returned by the uploader.
- Insert Markdown such as
. - Preview the result and inspect the published post in a second frontend.
Common mistake: the text photo.jpg alone is not an image URL and cannot tell a browser where to fetch the file.
What if an old image gateway stops working?
Find the original URL in the post body or metadata. A different compatible proxy may serve some images, but blindly replacing a domain for a bare filename can display an unrelated file. If the original image is lost and you own it, upload it again and update your post where editing is supported.
How do I write headings, lists and links?
## My heading
- first item
- second item
1. First step
2. Second step

Use the editor preview. Frontends can differ in support for advanced Markdown extensions or embedded media.
How is a link different from an image?
Use [Link text](https://example.org/) without the leading exclamation mark. A video link may be shown as a link rather than a player.
What helps readability and SEO?
Write descriptive titles, useful image alt text and clear headings. Use images you have permission to publish and do not place essential information only inside images. Publishing guide →
