How to create a Blurt account safely

A Blurt account is not like a regular social media account. It is not protected only by a password that can be reset by an administrator. Access is based on your Master Password and cryptographic keys.

Choose a username

Your username is your identity in the Blurt network. It will be visible next to posts, comments, transfers and your profile address.

Create the account

You can create an account through available signup tools. Once created, the same account works across Blurt.blog, BeBlurt, Blurt Wallet and other Blurt tools.

Save your Master Password and keys

The most important step is saving your access data. Master Password can be used to derive account keys, so keep it offline and never treat it like a casual login password.

First login

For everyday posting and voting, use your posting key. Use active key for financial operations. Keep owner key and Master Password offline whenever possible.
