A partnership can feel like a promising venture: two people moving forward together, driven by a shared vision. But when expectations diverge, unspoken issues can quickly take root. I’ve learned that having a difficult conversation early on can prevent many misunderstandings—and, at times, even save a professional relationship.
Clarifying things from the outset also helps protect trust—by defining roles, decision-making processes, and responsibilities, and by regularly taking the time to check in. It isn’t necessarily disagreements that weaken a partnership, but rather how you choose to navigate them.
What do you consider essential for building a solid partnership? Have you ever experienced a conflict that taught you something valuable?
