🌐 Blurt ↔ Cosmos Integration Proposal

@cosmos-proposals · 27.05.2025, 21:16

This proposal aims to integrate the Blurt blockchain with the Cosmos SDK ecosystem.

Vision

Our goal is to enable interchain token swaps, decentralized file storage, and seamless communication between Blurt and over 100 Cosmos-based blockchains — all while preserving Blurt's sovereignty.

Why Integrate with Cosmos?

Benefit AreaDescription
Token SwapsSwap $BLURT directly with other Cosmos assets without relying on centralized exchanges (CEX).
Decentralized StorageReduce reliance on centralized S3 servers (like on blurt.media) using Jackal or Akash.
Access to 100+ ChainsUnlock connections with Osmosis, Secret Network, DYDX, Astroport, Injective, and more.
Sovereignty MaintainedBlurt stays Graphene-based — we just learn to "speak IBC" without migrating.
Independence from Hive/HEReduces reliance on potentially hostile projects like Hive and Hive-Engine

Technical Scope

  • Wallet Compatibility: Keplr, Leap, and dozens of others.
  • DEX Integration: Astroport, Osmosis, DYDX, Secret, Injective, etc.
  • Storage Decentralization: Image & video hosting via Jackal or Akash
  • mBridge (Agorise): Optional bridge to graphene-powered BitShares DEX & Cosmos
  • Code Auditing: All code hosted open-source at git.agorise.net

💸 Budget Overview

We estimate two possible scopes for this project:

  • Full Cosmos SDK Integration – $40,000–$50,000
  • Includes: Cosmos SDK setup, IBC bridge, access to 100+ chains, wallet/DEX integrations, decentralized storage (Jackal/Akash), developer test infrastructure, and outreach (podcasts, PR).
  • Ideal for long-term growth and full interchain compatibility.
  • Basic Integration with Jackal & Akash only – up to $10,000
  • Enables decentralized media storage and content delivery via Web3 infrastructure.
  • Faster to deploy and useful as a first step or MVP phase.
Both scenarios preserve Blurt’s sovereignty.
Only the communication layer is extended — no consensus migration required.

⚠️ Important:
We can't write even one line of code until at least a couple of months of payments can be assured.
This ensures stability for contributors and responsible project planning.

🧠 FAQ

Will Blurt become part of Cosmos?
No. We remain sovereign — Blurt will still run Graphene. We only add the ability to speak the Cosmos language.

Will this affect Hive compatibility?
No. Existing infrastructure stays. This is purely an expansion of capability.

Will it increase node costs?
Only slightly — mostly for the test server. Long-term benefits outweigh this.

Who gets the money?
The integration will be carried out by the @agorise team
