A Little About Me — The Person Behind “fettyquill”

​Hello Blurt community,
​There is always a story behind a name. For me, that story begins with “fettyquill.” I chose this name because I have always felt a special connection with words—the way a simple sentence can make someone think, feel, learn, or even see life from a completely different perspective.
​I’m joining Blurt from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and I’m honestly excited to be part of this community.
​I’m naturally a quiet and private person. I don’t always feel the need to be the loudest person in the room. I would rather let my words, ideas, and work introduce me. I believe that sometimes the most meaningful things are created quietly.
​Why I Love Reading and Writing
​Reading has always been more than just a hobby for me.
​Whenever I read a good book or an interesting story, I feel like I’m stepping into another person’s world. I get to experience different ideas, cultures, emotions, and perspectives without ever leaving my own space.
​That love for reading is also what keeps pulling me toward writing.
​Writing gives me a chance to put my own thoughts into words and hopefully create something that another person can connect with. Sometimes I want to educate, sometimes I want to tell a story, and sometimes I simply want to share an idea that has been on my mind.
​I also enjoy exploring digital art and AI-assisted visual creation. I see technology as another creative tool—something that can help bring an idea or a story to life visually.
​What I Hope to Do on Blurt
​I’m not here simply to fill a profile with posts.
​I want to learn, improve, meet people who appreciate good ideas, and gradually become a better writer.
​I hope to share stories, thoughts, lessons, and educational content that people can actually take something from. If even one person reads something I write and walks away with a new idea, a different perspective, or a little inspiration, then I’ll feel that the writing was worth it.
​I also believe that good writing can do more than entertain. It can educate people, encourage meaningful conversations, challenge our thinking, and sometimes remind us of things we have forgotten.
​So, this is the beginning of my journey here.
​I’m fettyquill—a reader, a learner, a writer, and someone who is still discovering where words can take me.
