During our vacation, we spent three days in Phuket. I’m going to split our time in Phuket into multiple parts to better cover the wide range of information about the places we visited, modes of transportation, and prices.
In this sixth chapter, I’ll share about the Trickeye AR Museum.
Entrance and Entrance Fee
Coming out of the Aquarium, we headed to the AR Museum, which was located right next to it. We had no idea what we were about to see. At the entrance, the stamp on our hands was checked, and we were allowed to go in. Just before entering the hall, we had to download and install their app by scanning a QR code at the entrance.
From what I learned, these museums exist in multiple parts of the world, so you can definitely find one near you. You can check more details on their website: https://trickeye.com/ The ticket price we paid for both the Aquarium and AR Museum was $36.35 per person via Klook app. And it was 10.79 $ only for the Trickeye Museum. You can easily spend around 1 to 1.5 hours here.
What's Inside
We entered a large hall filled with multiple 3D artworks. The first room had pictures of dragons, flying houses, mermaids, sharks, and more. We tried out different poses, and visually, everything looked really 3D.
In each room, there was a poster showing how to pose and how the final photo should look. We only noticed this poster after passing about three rooms.
Through the app, we could see AR motions come to life. It was a really fun activity to pose correctly and match the AR effects.
We quickly adapted to it and managed to make good poses right away.
The second room had artworks where we could act like we were dancing, performing, or even posing like the Mona Lisa. My favorite was the ballet dancer pose, while Harith got the chance to dance with a beautiful lady there.
Luckily, we were the only guests in the rooms, so we had plenty of space to play around.
The third room featured sports-related artworks. There was also a corner with a visual illusion known as the Ames Room illusion. Unfortunately, we couldn’t take a photo together there, as there were only two of us.
Even the passages were decorated with pictures, and when viewed through the app, it felt like we were underwater. We had so much fun posing.
The last room was the biggest and had the most complex designs.
Our favorite was the panda on bamboo trees. Posing for that one was quite difficult for me, but Harith did really well. This room also had lots of dinosaur artworks and a giant gorilla picture, aside from the panda.
This place is really worth visiting and you'll definitely get some cool photos.
