The cryptocurrency exchange KlingEx has officially announced the closure of its operations, news that took many users by surprise, especially the Blurt community, as it had only been a couple of months since the platform listed this cryptocurrency for direct buying and selling.
Registered users received an email informing them of the decision. In the message, the KlingEx team explained that the closure is primarily due to the tightening of regulations applicable to cryptocurrency-related service providers, as well as the increase in legal, operational, and regulatory compliance costs. According to the company, the revenue generated by the platform was insufficient to justify the investment necessary to maintain a fully regulated operation.
KlingEx set June 29, 2026 as the deadline for making withdrawals directly from its website. After that date, users who still have funds will have to request manual withdrawals via email until July 22, 2026.
The news was later confirmed by members of the Blurt community, who also recommended withdrawing any balances as soon as possible to avoid problems. Following the announcement, an increase in trading activity on Blurt was observed, and even a temporary rise in its price.
The closure of KlingEx leaves Blurt users with few immediate alternatives for trading their assets. For the time being, platforms like Hive Engine and Tribaldex remain the most popular options. However, some members of the community have begun exploring the development of their own new exchange platform.
Although the partnership between Blurt and KlingEx was brief, this case demonstrates the difficulties small exchanges face in remaining operational in an increasingly demanding and costly regulatory environment.
