Referral System is Active on blurt.blog

Hi, folks!

In this post, I am letting you know that I have integrated the referral system on blurt.blog. I will tell you how it works, and how you can use the referral system to get some referral rewards when you get someone to sign up for Blurt.

How the Referral System Works on the Frontends

At this moment, to my knowledge, there are only two of the blogging frontends on Blurt that support the referral system. They are blurt.blog, and BeBlurt.

EDIT: @freakeao has said that his fronted, Twiggy also supports the referral system.

If you own or operate a blogging frontend for Blurt and you integrate the referral system, please let me know and I will update this post and mention your frontend here.

When an account is created with a referrer, whenever that account makes a post or a comment on a frontend UI that supports referrals, its referrer account gets set as a beneficiary at 3%. So, when the post pays out, the referrer gets a 3% commission. There really isn't that much more to it than that. You don't need to do anything. The frontend will automatically add the beneficiary.

Here's a screenshot of what it looks like on blurt.blog when I make a post with my test account, which has my main account set as its referrer. You can see that it added my main account as a beneficiary at 3%.

Creating an Account with a Referrer and Using Referral Links

To my knowledge, there are currently two account creation tools that support creating an account with a referrer. They are JoinBlurt (provided by @symbionts) and Join Blurt Blockchain (provided by @nalexadre).

With these two services, you can create an account with a referrer.

On JoinBlurt, there is a field where you can enter the referrer account if you create the new account yourself, you can just enter your account in that field. If you use a a referral link, that field will already be filled-in with your account name.

On Join Blurt Blockchain, I haven't seen a field for entering the referrer. You need to use the referral link in order for the created account to have a referrer (@nalexadre can correct me in the comments if I'm wrong).

Creating a Referral Link for JoinBlurt

JoinBlurt has many options for creating Blurt accounts. It supports creating a new account with your own Blurt account where you pay the fee from your account, it supports payments in BLURT, HIVE, or STEEM, and it also supports payments by credit card or Paypal.

To create a referral link for the JoinBlurt account creation tool, you simply use the following link, but replace socialgraph with your own blurt account name:

https://joinblurt.com/blurt/r/socialgraph

For example, if I wanted to create a referral link for myself, I would replace socialgraph with my account name saboin like this:

https://joinblurt.com/blurt/r/saboin

Creating a Referral Link for Join Blurt Blockchain

To create a referral link for the Join Blurt Blockchain account creation tool, you use the following link, but replace nalexadre with your own blurt account name:

https://join.blurt-blockchain.com/?r=nalexadre

Using my own account again as an example, I would replace nalexadre with saboin like this:

https://join.blurt-blockchain.com/?r=saboin

The Join Blurt Blockchain tool also supports creating campaign IDs so that you can track which campaign brought in new signups.

I will not be discussing the campaign ID in this post in any details.

If you are interested in knowing how to add a campaign ID to your referral link, you can refer to the announcement post for that tool.

Invitation to All Frontend and Account Creation Tools to Integrate the Referral System

I am inviting all who operate blogging frontends to integrate the referral system into their platform.

For @fervi, who operates the Intinte Blurt frontend, and any others who use a version of the Condenser Blurt frontend, you can see the code changes in the commit history. Look for the commits that I pushed on February 14.

For @khrom and others who have account creation tools, I invite you to add the possibility to create accounts with referrers.

For developers who want to integrate the referral system to their software, you can get all the necessary details by visiting the referral system announcement post by @nalexadre.

Future Addition to Blurtwallet.com

In the near future, I want to add an affiliate section on blurtwallet.com where you can view your affiliate links and keep track of your referrals, ie. who signed up with your referral link.

That's All, Folks!

That will be it for this one.

In the meantime I hope you all have a great one.

BTW, I have set @nalexadre as a 25% beneficiary to this post. He's is the one who built the referral system on the Nexus backend and made it available to everyone. Without his work, we would not have a referral system. You should vote for his witness if you would like to show appreciation for his hard work and dedication to Blurt.

##### Vote for my witness!

I run a witness node on the Blurt blockchain. I also maintain the Blurt Gitlab repo, contribute to the code, and I operate and maintain the main Blurt infrastructure for the Blurt Core team, and I would really appreciate your witness vote.

You can vote for my witness by going here.
